Description

KYOTO Design Lab is happy to announce that we will be inviting David Ngo from Simplicity Labs to run a workshop on Behavior Design Applied to Product & Personal Improvement.

Overview
What is Behavior Design? Why are innovators in Silicon Valley companies like applying it to their product designs? How can we apply Behavior Design to personal improvement, too?

Behavior Design is pioneered by Dr. BJ Fogg, who teaches at Stanford University ( http://www.bjfogg.org/ ).  It’s a new systematic approach to create solutions that influence human behavior.

Behavior Design is a system of the right language (models) and right ways of doing (methods) for successful behavior change solutions.  The right language gives clarity to thinking.  Whereas, the right methods give power to designing.  Together, this unique approach leads to successful and innovative solutions for changing human behavior.

More about Behavior Design here: http://captology.stanford.edu/projects/behaviordesign.html

The Workshop
In the first half of this introductory workshop, you’ll learn how to apply the most important Behavior Design framework to something that you’re creating (an app, website, program).

In the second half, you will apply the same framework into your own personal improvement.  What is something that you’ve always wanted to do? What is something that you sometimes do, but wish you were consistent with? Reading? Writing? Exercising? Meditating?

Who this is for
Anyone who is trying to influence or change behavior will benefit from this workshop.  Whether you are trying to design solutions to help others, or change your own behavior -- you will leave the workshop with more clarity around your target behavior.

Lecturer Bio
David created the world’s first Behavior Design major program with Dr. BJ Fogg at Stanford University.  Since 2011, he’s been a Behavior Design consultant to product companies.  Previously, he cofounded a Behavior Design firm called Simplicity Labs ( http://www.simplicitylabs.co/ ).  Currently, he’s starting to bring Behavior Design directly to people’s desire for personal behavior change.
